PHO Sarangani conducts suprise drug test

GENERAL SANTOS CITY (PIA) -- The Provincial Health Office of Sarangani conducted a surprise rapid drug test on Wednesday, January 4, to the staff and employees of the health office, Provincial Hospital, and Provincial Department of Health Office.

Medical Technologist Federico Yadao, in a report from the Sarangani Provincial Information Office, disclosed that out of the 67 urine samples tested from the first batch, nothing was reactive or none was found positive with drug substance like methamphetamine or meth and cannabinoids or cannabis.

In the event that a specimen will turn out positive in the drug test, interventions he said will be provided by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the local government assessment team to address the concern.

“Sana ma-sustain natin itong ating anti-drug campaign at wala na tayong makikitang empleyado pa ng Kapitolyo na naho-hook sa gawaing ito,” the Information Office quoted Yadao as saying.

The unannounced drug test was implemented in partnership with the PDEA, as part of the provincial government's advocacy for a drug-free workplace. (Harlem Jude Ferolino, PIA SarGen)
