Pagadianons praiseful Fluvial procession 2023

Pagadian City, January 14 (PIA) – The Fluvial procession is one of the main highlights of celebrating the Pasalamat festival 2023 held at Pagadian City Wharf area Saturday, January 14, 2023. Sr. Santo Niño De Pagadian is the centerpiece of the Festival's fluvial parade.

The Fluvial parade is a tradition of the Catholics to show their praise and devotion to the Patron Saint, Sr. Santo Niño De Pagadian for the blessings they received.

The Devotees, and believers of the Patron Saint, Sr. Santo Niño are gathered together bringing statues  of his image during the concelebrated Mass for the blessing of the revultos typically performed after.

The Fluvial procession started at the wharf area and the boats maneuvered around the waters of Yllana Bay. The Fluvial parade is open to limited passengers and the boat operators are reminded to strictly observe the load capacity of their boats to avoid accidents.

The Government of Pagadian City has been very observant about the safety of the Pagadianons. For security, people from the Coast Guard, Philippine Navy, Bureau of Fire (BFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), and security staff from the City Government have been deployed around the venue to secure the safety of the people.

A lot of street vendors are selling various memorabilia like t-shirts and hats with the Pasalamat festival logo printed on it. Some vendors are also selling essentials like water and food.

Most of the devotees are from Pagadian City and nearby municipalities of Zamboanga Del Sur. Some are locals now residents from different cities in the Philippines went home to celebrate the festival with their families.
