Isabela City launches its Human Resource Information System (HRIS)

ISABELA CITY, Basilan, Jan. 17 (PIA) – The City Government of Isabela through its City Human Resource Management Office formally launched the Human Resource Information System (HRIS) on January 16 to make human resources operations simple, efficient and productive.

During the launching program at City Hall Lobby, Mayor Sitti Djalia Turabin-Hataman in her message, stated that having an established Human Resource Information Systsem is one of the things the local government unit has been waiting for to have a healthy and friendly competition among the offices to challenge each other to match the LGU's speed, competence and performance.

She also expressed her gratitude to all the staff of the City Human Resources Office as she emphasized that the LGU's most valuable resource is human resources.

“Ang HR natin, talagang nagpapasalamat tayo na hindi sila tumigil sa paghahanap ng mga pamamaraan para maayos ang kanilang sistema, ang kanilang pagganap sa kanilang trabaho”, Mayor Turabin-Hataman expressed.

Furthermore, Director Alvin Araneta of Civil Service Commission-Region IX also expressed his congratulations on the launch of Isabela City's HRIS which brings the city one step closer to meeting one of the prime HRM maturity indicators.

Meanwhile, Rosella T. Luna, Chief HRMO also discussed the main features of HRIS which is the intersection of human resources and information technology via HR software and allows electronic synchronization of HR activities and processes.

In addition, Alexander Garcia from Human Resources Office also discussed the HRIS Module with six parts namely; recruitment, onboarding and separation, personnel information management, payroll, time, attendance, and leave management, and an employee self-service portal.


Vice Kifli Salliman also expressed his appreciation and full support for the HRIS implementation in the city government.


“Congratulations sa ating HR, napakahirap magdala ng pagbabago, pero mas naniniwala tayo na mas mahirap tumanggap ng pagbabago. Mabuhay at pagpupugay sa mga taong payag tumanggap ng pagbabago”, Vice Mayor Salliman stressed.

The Human Resource Information System aims to support employees through their job lifecycle as it is used to collect and store data of the employees which are valuable inputs for data driven decision making in human resources.(NBE/NDR-PIA Basilan with reports from CIO Isabela City)
