Another CVMC specialty center to rise this year

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) –  The Cagayan Valley Medical Center will soon have its bigger and more sophisticated Behavioral Medicine Department in line with the pronouncement of Pres. Bongbong Marcos Jr. that specialty centers should be distributed in all regions.

CVMC Medical Center Chief Dr. Glenn Mathew Baggao said they have initially conducted site inspection in Nangalasauan, Amulung after Cagayan Third District Rep. Joseph Lara donated a parcel of land and have allocated initial fund for this.

Dr. Baggao said P15 million fund was allotted for 2022 while P200 million was budgetted for 2023.

TOWARDS THAT GOAL. Dr. Glenn Mathew Baggao said all the infrastructure projects that are underway are all geared towards the hospital's goal of dleivering the best patient care services.

Meanwhile, Dr. Baggao said they will include in the 2024 budget the proposed Regional Lung and Heart Center as this is seen to help a lot of help to people seeking lung and heart- treatment in Metro Manila.

The chief said they have already identified the site of the project.

“We will be sending our doctors and nurses for training at the Philippine Heart Center in preparation for our new center”, Baggao added.

CVMC he said almost have all the specialty centers as it geared towards its dream of becoming a referral and multi-specialty center in the Philippines by 2025.

At present, aside from the above mentioned infrastructure, the Phase 3 of the Communicable Disease Center is ongoing as well as the Brain and Spine Center, and the Trauma Center, the chief said.

Dr. Amelia Pangilinan, regional director of the Department of Health Cagayan Valley said she salute the leadership of Dr. Baggao for he is good in lobbying funds for the construction of new facilities that will help deliver quality patient care services to the people. (MDCT/GVB/PIA Cagayan)
