PIA checks on health status of employees after the holidays

QUEZON CITY (PIA) – Post-holiday self-care is as important as the actual festivities. Christmas and New Year celebrations in the Philippines are among the longest in the world hence, the hustle and bustle of preparations are extensive, too. This may lead to holiday fatigue not to mention health issues due to overeating and alcohol intoxication.

As the employees of the Philippine Information Agency return to work after the long holiday break, the agency conducted on Thursday, January 19, a health and wellness webinar entitled “Wellness and Self-care after the holidays” to check on everyone’s health status.

After all, the agency ensures that the workforce is healthy and well in anticipation of a productive year to come.

PIA Medical Consultant Dr. Dean Zenarosa during the webinar shares the results of the 2022 Annual Physical Examination of all the employees held on June 30, 2022. He then reminds everyone to continue to take prescribed medicines and follow a healthy diet. Eating the healthy and right amount of food is one way in living a healthy life.  Keeping hydrated and getting enough quality sleep is also necessary.

Doc Zenarosa also encourages everyone to look for an exercise routine that they will enjoy and stick to that routine. As well as having a me-time and meditating enough to recharge.

To achieve good well-being, it is important to have a proper diet, physical activities, good and enough sleep as well as meditation. Aside from these, it is also advised to quit smoking and limit alcohol intake.

Meanwhile, the COVID-19 virus is still very much alive and we can still catch it. The Human Resource Development Divison (HRDD) reminds the employees to review the Memorandum on the Agency’s COVID-19 policies. and if infected, report to the immediate supervisor, and the Health and Wellness team will coordinate.

All questions raised have been addressed by Dr. Zenarosa during the open forum. All employees and officials of the agency have been given the chance to ask for medical advice.  (KSAA – PIA CPSD)
