BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya (PIA) - - Members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) here has supported the call of Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benhur Abalos, urging Generals and full Colonels of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to submit their courtesy resignation to cleanse their ranks from illegal drug trade ties.
A copy of the SP Resolution No. 2023-4433 was handed to Lt. General Rhodel Sermonia, PNP deputy chief for administration, during his recent visit in the province.
Sermonia came to Nueva Vizcaya to lead the groundbreaking of the infrastructure project within the Nueva Vizcaya Police Provincial Office (NVPPO) and paid courtesy call to Governor Carlos Padilla.
The SP in their resolution said the DILG move is considered to be the fastest way to cleanse the ranks within the PNP, considering the lengthy judicial process for erring officials.
“We are one with the DILG on this move. We hope that this will bear positive result and a productive endeavor,” Vice Governor Jose Gambito said. (OTB/BME/PIA NVizcaya)
