QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- The Land Transportation Office (LTO) supports the recent passage of a resolution by Metro Manila mayors that will implement a unified single ticketing system in the National Capital Region (NCR).

LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Jose Arturo "Jay Art" Tugade said the agency is happy that the LGUs have finally reached an agreement on the single ticketing scheme.

"Even before this scheme was proposed, the LTO has already called for a thorough review of the policy and not be implemented in haste without plugging all possible loopholes that may result in more confusion instead of convenience," said Tugade.

Tugade said that through the single ticketing system, the road management policies regarding fines for violating traffic laws will be the same.

"With the implementation of a Single Ticketing system, it will help road management within the National Capital Region become more responsive, efficient, and appropriate to the needs of the motoring public," Tugade added.
