PSA Isabela prints, delivers E-PhilSys IDs of registrants

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - - The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) - Isabela is continuously printing and distributing electronically-generated Philippine Identification System or the E-PhilSys IDs to Isabeleños who have yet to receive their respective PhilSys ID cards.

Isabela Chief Statistical Specialist Julius Emperador said they have already printed 422,000 E-PhilSys IDs from its 36 registration centers in the province since last year and have delivered a total of 258, 325, or 61% as of January 2023.

Emperador said the printed E-PhilSys IDs are delivered to the residents in their respective barangays.

He said the printed IDs are issued by PSA and the use of the E-PhilSys ID is the same as the PhilSys ID card issued by Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).

He also said that the PSA Isabela will continue printing and delivering the E-PhilSys ID to Isabelenos who have yet to receive their respective PhilSys ID cards.

Emperador emphasized that Isabelenos who were given E-PhilSys IDs will still be receiving the PhilSys ID card from the BSP.

“At first, the PSA issues E-PhilSys IDs called Mode 1 where individuals who have already registered with the PhilSys are advised to transact online and schedule them when to appear and get their E-PhilSys IDs in PSA, but the office saw that the Mode 1 processing is too slow, thereby PSA shifted to Mode 2 strategy where the PSA prints and delivers the E-PhilSys IDs right at the residents of registered individuals,” Emperador said.

Meanwhile, Emperador said has already registered 1, 255, 311 Isabelenos or 86% of the targeted population of Isabela, aged 5 and above as of January 2023. There were already 430, 975 Isabelenos who received the PhilSys ID cards from BSP.

He said their office will start to register in the PhilSys aged 4 and below this year. (OTB/MGE / PIA Isabela)
