CAPSU seals int'l partnership with Kasetsart University

ROXAS CITY, Capiz (PIA) -- A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed by the Capiz State University (CapSU) and Thailand - based Kasetsart University (KU), Feb. 21, at the CapSU Roxas City main campus to seal a collaboration in the exchange of studies, research, research, information in current and new emerging trends and capacity building in education.

The MOU signing was led by CapSU President Dr. Editha Alfon and KU director Dr. Phisamai Srichayet who conveyed their commitment for the collaboration aimed to put both universities to greater heights.

“Collaboration among universities here and abroad has always been proven to be crucial in internationalization,” Dr. Alfon said.

The activity, facilitated by the CapSU's Office of the Vice-President for External Affairs and Linkages, was attended by CapSU officials that include vice-president for Administration and Finance Dr. Wennie F. Legario, vice-president for Research and Development Dr. Efren 

Linan and extension campus administrators, satellite college directors and other university officials.

Aside from Srichayet, the KU counterpart was represented by deputy director for Research Dr. Pramuan Saithong and deputy director for Academic Affairs Wanida Tewaruth Chitisankul.

CapSU vice-president for External Affiars and Linkages Dr. Mary Ann B. Martelino stressed the importance of forging stronger partnerships for the growth and development of the university.

“No single university, no matter how large, can address future challenges by itself. In this era of globalization, cooperative partnerships with other institutions of academic excellence around the world is not an option anymore but a necessity,” she said.

The KU was established in 1943 to promote agricultural science and has since expanded its subject areas to cover life sciences, science, engineering, social sciences and humanities to become the largest university in Thailand.
