GA-10 bares packed activities for women's month 2023

CAGAYAN DE ORO (PIA)--In a fight for gender equality and celebration of National Women’s Month, Region 10 Gender Advocates (GA-10) President Maj. Daisy Baguio of the 4th Infantry Division, Philippine Army, enjoins the public to join the month-long pack of activities with the theme, "WE (Women Empowerment) for gender equality and inclusive society."

On March 1, GAD-10 kicked off the month-long celebration with a motorcade and short program, as well as a space for free t-shirt printing, Baguio said  during the "Ang Rehiyon Karon"" radio program, February 27.

The organization will also have a TV and radio guesting with the Hope Channel, GMA, and the Philippine Information Agency (PIA).

On March 27, the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) will hold a "Safe Spaces" caravan, and the Commission on Human Rights (CHR)-10 will offer free legal consultations. 

The Bureau of Treasury and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-10 will also be there to offer their services. The National Telecommunications Office (NTC)-10 will also provide assistance for SIM registration.

The CHR has yet to announce the date for the women's rights law onboarding session as well as the next "Safe Spaces Caravan" in collaboration with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTRFB)-10.

"Ang 2023 National Women’s Month Celebration magtawag alang sa empowerment sa kababayen-an ug babaye ngadto sa pagpadako sa ilang kaayohan gikan sa kabag-ohan ug teknolohiya ug pagdugtong sa gender gap sa ICT ug connectivity," Baguio added.

(The 2023 National Women's Month Celebration will call for the empowerment of women and girls to maximize their benefits from innovation and technology and bridge the gender gap in ICT and connectivity)

She added that the celebration targets making sure everyone is heard. Managers must be aware and understand that there are different working styles in which employees work, create a network of women, and create a referral system. (TAAG/PIA-10)
