MIMAROPA ‘Infoserve’ Caravan to launch this year

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) -- The Regional Population Executive Board (RPEB) holds its First Quarterly Meeting for CY 2023 on March 1 at RMS Conference Room, Mandaluyong City. The meeting was presided over by National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) MIMAROPA Regional Director and RPEB Chairperson Agustin Mendoza. The said meeting was set to maintain coordinative mechanisms ensuring efficient and effective implementation of population and development programs at all levels

During the meeting, Popcom Mimaropa Regional Director Reynaldo O. Wong presented the proposal for the launching of Mimaropa Infoserve Caravan to be launched later this year with its theme “Transforming Lives, Engaging People: The MIMAROPA Information Service Delivery Caravan”.

The caravan aims to disseminate information to broaden public awareness and generate support for the Regional Development Program for the year 2023-2028; focus the public’s attention on the region's vision of being the ‘destination of choice’.

This caravan will also deliver basic government services to residents to intensify the promotion of human capital development among parents, young children, adolescents, and senior family members. Moreover, strengthened culturally-appropriate programs for IPs will be prioritized this year.

The caravan is perceived to be a potential ‘game changer’ facilitating human capital growth and development in rural and underdeveloped island municipalities through synergistic response towards accelerated and sustained local development.

Various agreements and possible partnerships among regional line agencies were made during the meeting. As such, the member agencies committed to participate in the upcoming ‘infoserve’ caravan signed the Pledge of Commitment of Support.

Also present during the meeting were DSWD Mimaropa Regional Director Leonardo Reynoso, National Nutrition Council Mimaropa Regional Nutrition Coordinator Ma. Eileen Blanco, and representatives from different regional line agencies and civil society organizations. (GATS/PIA MIMAROPA)
