Baguio's 4 Outstanding Women Leaders recognized

BAGUIO CITY(PIA) - - Four empowered women are this year’s Outstanding Women Leaders(OWLs)  of Baguio.

They are Marites Baucas for Community Women Empowerment; Annie Marie Caguioa for Education; Ma. Monica Costales for Human Resource Management; and Editha Puddoc for Public Administration/ Community Peace Building

These 2023 Search for Outstanding Women Leaders of Baguio winners 2023 were awarded during the Kababaihan Festival program on Thursday (March 16) highlighting the city’s National Women’s Month celebration.

Baucas is the current president of the Santo Tomas Proper Women’s Cooperative and regularly supports women in crisis and spearheads livelihood undertaking for women in their organization.

Caguioa  is a multi - awarded educator  who  rose from the ranks and is the current directress of the Saint Louis School Center Inc. Good governance, gender and anti – bullying are among her advocacies.

Costales, Chief Administrative Officer of the Philippine Military Academy, has been managing the civilian employees of the PMA and leading them to several civil works. She is a recipient of various awards from the PMA and the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Puddoc is the regional director of National Police Commission – Cordillera establishing her leadership in a field that is male-dominated. As Napolcom head, she   led Community Police Relations and community peace building activities.

Philippine Information Agency Cordillera Regional Director Helen Tibaldo, the  Guest of Honor and Speaker, with city officials headed by Vice Mayor Faustino Olowan and City Council Committee on Social Services, Women and Urban Poor Chairperson Elmer Datuin  and OWLs Inc. officers led the awarding of plaque of recognition to the awardees.

Now on its 17th year, the search is an institutionalized annual activity of the City Government of Baguio, in partnership with the Outstanding Women Leaders Inc. – an organization composed of past OWLs winners. (JDP/CCD-PIA CAR)
