QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez on Monday announced his plan to build a Women and Children's Hospital in the city to further strengthen the provision of accessible health care services by the city government to residents.

According to Olivarez, who himself is a registered nurse, the Women and Children's Hospital will be built next to the Ospital ng Parañaque 1 (OsPar1) in Barangay La Huerta, where the city government has already allocated a budget of P149 million for the new hospital this year.

Once completed, the medical facility will be the second specialty hospital for women and youth operating in the entire country. The seven-story building will be built on the site where the fire and police station is currently located near OsPar1.

The demolition of the said stations will begin this March and the construction of the new hospital will immediately follow.

Meanwhile, Olivarez also led the inauguration of the Libjo Child Development Center in Area 7, Sitio Libjo in Barangay Sto. Niño, this weekend.

According to the mayor, putting up child development centers is important for day care pupils because they no longer need to go far in order to study in pre-school. (PIA-NCR)
