NTC-Zambo Norte reminds public: SIM registration only until April 26

DIPOLOG CITY, Mar. 24 (PIA) - The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) continuously conducted mobile caravans to ramp-up the Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) registration in the different towns of the province.

Engr. Jayserine Andaling, officer-in-charge of NTC-Zamboanga del Norte reminded the public to register their SIM cards before its set deadline on April 26, 2023 to avoid inconvenience.

According to NTC, mobile caravans were already conducted in the towns of Sergio Osmeña, Labason, Gutalac, Siayan, and in the City of Dapitan.

Leon B. Postigo town is also on the list of target areas, including other municipalities that are considered geographically isolated/disadvantaged, needing assistance and are priority for the SIM registration mobile caravan.

NTC stressed SIM registration is a gateway to stop online and mobile scams. Hence, the public is encouraged to register their SIM cards for their protection.

SIM cards that will not be registered after the deadline will be deactivated.

Republic Act 11934 or the Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) Registration Act regulates the use of SIM cards by mandating all end-users to register their mobile phone numbers.
