MPD nabs 41 crime suspects, reprimands 753

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- As many as 41 suspects involved in various crimes were arrested by Manila Police District (MPD) personnel within 24 hours since Saturday, a report said.

According to data from the MPD-Public Information Office, the police conducted 10 operations against illegal drugs from 5 a.m. on April 1 to 5 a.m. on April 2.

During the operation, they arrested 21 drug suspects and confiscated 21.1 grams of suspected shabu worth P143,962; and eight grams of marijuana worth P960.

They conducted seven operations against illegal gambling that resulted in the arrest of 18 suspects and the confiscation of P4,708 in bet money.

They conducted two operations against wanted personalities in which they arrested two suspects.

Meanwhile, 753 individuals were also repremanded and arrested for violating various ordinances in the city.

Among those nabbed, include 296 individuals arrested for violating the smoking ordinance in public places, 200 for violating traffic laws, 138 for not wearing a top, 76 for violating the road obstruction, and 43 picked up due to curfew. (PIA-NCR)
