It was disclosed during the Kapihan sa Baguio on Tuesday (April 25) that about 44 local companies will offer over 2,000 job vacancies. Ten carefully chosen overseas agencies will also join the job fair.
Department of Migrant Workers Adjudicator Atty. Jeffrey Exiomo said they will set up a booth to provide assistance to applicants especially in the creation of their eRegistration account. They will likewise provide onsite legal assistance, information on how to avoid illegal recruiters, among others.
Other activities are lined up in celebration of Labor Day. The TESDA-CAR will provide free wellness services such as haircut, massage, and beauty care. Dir. Jovencio Ferrer said TESDA will also set up a one-stop-shop for individuals applying for national certificates, scholarships, and other programs of TESDA.
The DOT-CAR, on the other hand, will conduct free Filipino Service Brand of Excellence trainings for those who are seeking job or workers in the tourism industry. Dir. Jovita Ganongan said the training is slated on May 1-3 on a first come, first served basis.
A five-day Kadiwa ng Pangulo para sa Manggagawa is set at the Ibaloi Heritage Garden in Burnham Park from April 27 to April 30, and will culminate at the BCCC on May 1.
The Puregold and Tiong San Baguio and La Trinidad branches, in coordination with Department of Trade and Industry I-CAR are also offering In-store Diskwento Caravan until May 1.
Aside from the Kadiwa and Diskwento Caravan, DTI-CAR Regional Director Juliet Lucas said they will also set up a Negosyo Center booth to provide counseling and information on how to do business as they continue to promote Micro Small and Medium Enterprises. (JDP/DEG-PIA CAR)
