Labor Day Job Fair held in Cebu

CEBU CITY, Cebu, May 11 (PIA) -- The Department of Labor and Employment Region 7 (DOLE-7) conducted a "Labor Day Job Fair" on May 1 in line with the observance of this year’s Labor Day at the Robinsons Galleria, Cebu City.

This was one of the two simultaneous job fairs that the labor department conducted in the region, with the other one held in Negros Oriental.

A total of 6,690 job openings were offered for both Cebu and Negros Oriental, with 5,855 local job openings and 835 overseas job openings.

The event served as an avenue for jobseekers in Cebu to avail of employment opportunities from different industries, while they can also avail of other services offered by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Department of Agriculture (DA), and the Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA).

According to DOLE-7, the top 10 vacancies per job position for the Cebu leg of the said job fair are Customer Service Representative with 458 vacancies, Call Center Agent with 300 vacancies, Seasonal Customer Service Associate with 300 vacancies, ESL Teacher with 200 vacancies, Financial Advisor with 100 vacancies, Janitors with 100 vacancies, Sales Representative with 100 vacancies, Technical Advisory with 100 vacancies, Cashier with 98 vacancies, and Outbound Sales Agent with 75 vacancies.
