CITY OF CALAPAN, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) – In order to ensure the safety and comfort of the vendors and consumers of the public market in the municipality of Baco, Mayor Allan A. Roldan is set to lead the construction of the new market in the municipality.

To ensure the smooth process of the project construction, Mayor Roldan and Market Administrator Noli Villas consulted beforehand the vendors, whose stalls will be affected due to the construction.

In their dialogue, the Mayor showed the present status of the market through a video presentation. In the video, it can be seen that the current situation of the stalls in the market is not conducive to selling products and can be detrimental to the health of the buyers. He said there are posing risks of a large-scale fire incident due to how close the stalls are and the quality of materials used in them.

Roldan pitched to the group that with the help from different offices such as the office of the 1st District Congressman Arnan C. Panaligan amounting to P50M of fund, and another P50M from the Provincial Government, construction of a well-built and state-of-the-art market is possible. Also, another P100M will also be allotted to the project by the National Government according to the local chief executive. (JJGS/PIA Mimaropa/OrMin)
