In coordination with the provincial government, the launching of the RDP 2023-2028 will advocate the development thrusts and priorities of the region and the province to local stakeholders.
The said development plan was signed through RDC Resolution No. 02-2023 last March.
It is regarded as the overall blueprint of the council that envisions to revitalize into “more resilient, inclusive, and competitive region where safe, diverse, and prosperous people enjoy an abundance of sustained equitable opportunities, strategic investments, and ingenious innovations enabled by good governance.”
Moreover, the RDP is anchored on the eight-point socio-economic agenda of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
“For the indicative program, we will get a message and call to action from the governors of the provincial government and key government officials to support the plan by implementing priority programs consistent and supportive to the regional development plan,” said Rey Ferreria of National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Region 1.
A commitment signing will also be conducted during the launching of the RDP.
The schedule of the unveiling of the RDP in the region are as follow: July 19 in Sual, Pangasinan; August 8 in Rosales, Pangasinan, August 22 in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur; and September 6 in Rosario, La Union. (JCR/MJTAB PIA Ilocos Norte)
