LINGAYEN, Pangasinan (PIA) – Two engineering offices of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) were recognized as the Most Outstanding District Engineering Offices in the Philippines by their Central Office for their exceptional performances in 2022.
DPWH Pangasinan Second District Engineering Office, headed by District Engineer (DE) Edita Manuel was awarded first runner-up, while the prestigious title of Most Outstanding District Engineering Office was awarded to Pangasinan Fourth District Engineering Office, led by officer-in-charge Assistant Regional Director and Concurrent DE Mathias Malenab.
The award was presented to Manuel and Malenab by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. together with DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan and Senior Undersecretary Emil K. Sadain during the agency’s 125th Founding Anniversary on Friday.
Manuel said out of 193 district offices in the entire country, two offices in Pangasinan were recognized based on their technical performance, planning performance, financial management, procurement management, and resolution rating on stakeholders’ complaints.
“Overall performance ito hindi lang sa district engineer. Talagang lahat ng mga empleyado ng district office ay nagtulong-tulong para makamit ang award na ito kaya thankful talaga ako sa kanila for their commitment in delivering high-quality performance para ma-address ang pangangailangan ng publiko,” Manuel said in an interview.
With this recognition, Manuel said the DPWH Pangasinan Second District Engineering Office will remain committed to its role in implementing innovative engineering solutions and ensuring the successful completion of vital infrastructure projects in its area of responsibility.
Meanwhile, the DPWH Regional Office I bagged the Most Outstanding Regional Office Award among the 16 regional offices nationwide with an overall rating of 92.5 percent. (JCR/AMB/EMSA/PIA Pangasinan)
