Durungawan returns to face-to-face seminars

MANILA, (PIA) — After three years of virtual lectures, the "Mga Durungawan sa Kulturang Pilipino" (Windows on Philippine Culture) seminar series is returning to face-to-face events in 2023.

The seminar series is open to all interested in-service and pre-service teachers and educators, and it aims to promote cultural education in all domains of teaching-learning processes in the country.

The event is made possible through the initiative of the NCCA National Committee on Cultural Education, Sub-commission on Cultural Dissemination in partnership with the Provincial Tourism Council of South Cotabato Inc.

The 2023 Durungawan will be held in four different locations:

  • Marinduque (June 29-July 2)
  • Siquijor (July 21-23)
  • Zamboanga del Sur (August 2-4), and
  • Tawi-Tawi (August 11-13)

Each seminar will feature a panel of invited experts who will discuss pedagogy on culture-based education.

The panelists will come from the ranks of current and former NCCED Executive Members and noted scholars on culture-based education.

In addition to the panel discussions, the Durungawan will also include opportunities for interaction and discussion among participants. This will allow participants to share their own experiences and ideas on how to incorporate culture-based education into their teaching practices.

The 2023 Durungawan is free to attend, and registration is now open. For more information, please visit the Durungawan website or follow the Durungawan Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/MgaDurungawanSaKulturangPilipino. (PIA-NCR)
