SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union (PIA) – Thunderbird Resorts and Casinos through Thunderbird Foundation Incorporated  continued its partnership with the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) La Union Chapter to help reach out the community, specially the marginalized ones through voluntary services

The Thunderbird Resorts and Casinos is a company known for supporting communities in need with a three-category program: restoration of cultural heritage, educational assistance and environmental conservation, and medical assistance. 

In an interview with the Philippine Information Agency, Marvin Lanuza,general manager of Thunderbird Resorts, said, "The Thunderbird Resorts and Casinos tapped Philippine Red Cross as our partner, because we all know that has always been our partner to many projects like blood donations, medical mission and even assisting the safety and security of our tourists as well."

Aside from that, Thunderbird Resorts and Casinos handed P1.5 million in financial assistance to the PRC La Union to help extend volunteerism and humanitarian work held in San Fernando City, La Union on June 27.

Meanwhile, Eduardo Regala, Chairman of the PRC La Union Chapter, said that the bond aims to extend essential life support and first aid including voluntary activities and programs within the province.

"It’s a blessing that Thunderbird generously gave us a substantial amount as i’ve mentioned para magpatuloy pa ang aming vision- to save lives," said Regala.

The Philippine Red Cross La Union Chapter is a voluntary organization which provides health and safety programs to the community such as blood donations, training, fund generation campaigns, and medical missions, among others. (JCR/AMB/MJTAB/KCR, PIA La Union)
