QUEZON CITY, (PIA) – The Pasay City Health Office (CHO) is set to administer the COVID-19 bivalent vaccines among healthcare frontline workers from both the public and private medical facilities in the city starting on July 12 to July 14.
Healthcare providers belong to the A1 priority group in line with the vaccine prioritization framework of the national immunization program.
The eligible medical practitioners to receive the bivalent vaccines must have been inoculated with the second booster shot in the past 4 months prior to their immunization schedule.
The A1 population in the city can avail of the third booster vaccine at the nearest health centers from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.
This tranche of Pfizer bivalent vaccines will initially be allocated for the deployment of the Pasay City General Hospital, Adventist Medical Center Manila, San Juan De Dios Educational Foundation Inc., and Air Force General Hospital.
To date, the city government has administered a total of 862,179 vaccines among its residents through the “Vacc to the Future” local vaccination program. Of these, the A4 category or the frontline personnel in essential sectors recorded the highest vaccination rate with 117,421 second doses administered.
This is followed by the A3 sector or the persons with comorbidities at 76,513 first doses administered. The said vaccine deployment rate brings the daily vaccines administered in the city to 56.
As of June 30, 2023, the Pasay City Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance Unit registered zero new COVID-19 cases.
Meawhile, the Pasay CHO also reminded that the immunization of residents aged 5 to 11 years old is continuously being held in the city’s health centers using the Pfizer vaccine.
At present, Sinovac is the only available brand to vaccine recipients aged 12 years and above. (PASAY PIO/PIA-NCR)
