DAET, Camarines Norte -- A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was inked between TESDA, PNP, and Sarong Banggi to provide meat processing skills training to  50 beneficiaries from the six (6) priority barangays in Camarines Norte  on Monday, July 10. 

The said barangays are included in the 55 priority barangays of the National Task Force – End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) in the province of Camarines Norte. The six priority barangays include Talobatib, Labo; Malangcao, Basud; Lanot, Pambuhan, Colasi and Tarum of Mercedes. Another barangay from the capital town Daet will also be included in the skills training.

TESDA Public Information Officer Tobias M. Obrero said that of the 50 participants that will benefit from the training, this will be conducted in two batches with 25 persons each.

The MOA was inked by the Technical Skills and Development Authority Provincial Director Engr. Eduardo B. Bonagua, Philippine National Police- 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company Deputy Force Commander PCpt. Arthur P. Yanto and Sarong Banggi Organization International Inc. Chairman Aries F. Babala.

Obrero said TESDA will provide the training skills and will issue a certificate of training to all participants while the SBOII will cover the cost of the training program. Identification of the participants and the venue will be managed by the PNP.

The collaborative efforts of TESDA, SBOII, and the PNP mark a significant milestone in the history of these organizations, he said.

As the lead agency in the Poverty Reduction, Livelihood, and Employment Cluster, TESDA has played a pivotal role in providing skills training interventions to priority barangays.

TESDA has collaborated closely with national and local government units to ensure the fulfillment of the objectives outlined in Executive Order No. 70 on NTF-ELCAC.

Since 2019, TESDA has extended its interventions to numerous barangays in the municipalities of Santa Elena, Capalonga, and Labo.

As the calendar year progresses, 55 barangays have been identified as priorities to receive the same interventions.

TESDA has already delivered essential skills training to selected barangays in the municipality of Mercedes, focusing on competencies in Food Processing and Driving NC II.

This skills training program will also be implemented in the town of Mercedes, prioritizing the remaining barangays that were not covered during previous interventions.

With this steadfast commitment to supporting the National Government's initiatives aimed at ending long-lasting insurgencies in the country, the local authorities have been working tirelessly towards sustainable peace and prosperity in the countryside.

Their efforts include implementing various interventions in vulnerable communities identified under the NTF-ELCAC, established in 2018 through EO 70 of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

Over the past years, numerous barangays have already benefitted from government interventions, encompassing a wide range of services such as dental and medical missions, food pack distribution, relief operations, livelihood and skills training, starter kits distribution, tree planting activities, business orientation, cooperative development, and infrastructure projects among others.
