2,500 ARBs in CagVal receive land titles from DAR

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela (PIA) - - At least 2,500 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) from Cagayan Valley recently received free Certificate of Land Ownership Awards (CLOAs) from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) - Regional Office 2 during the mass distribution held on July 7, 2023 in Cabagan, Isabela.

The mass distribution of CLOAs to ARBs was a simultaneous nationwide activity led by Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado Estrella III at the Malacanang Palace, together with President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. during the signing of the New Agrarian Emancipation Act.

The said act condones the amortization of principal payments, interest and penalties on the land tenants are presently tilling, in what is considered as the most significant piece of agrarian legislation passed since the whole country was declared an agrarian reform area, by then President Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr. in October 1972. 

Secretary Estrella said that the department will continue to fulfill the President’s mandate to distribute all available land to farmers and other qualified beneficiaries, clear the backlog of agrarian cases, promote support services including training on modern agricultural techniques, and access to credit facilities to realize the vision of “Sariling Lupa Para sa Bagong Bukas na Masagana” for farmers.

At least 2,500 Agrarian Reform beneficiaries from the five provinces of Cagayan Valley recently received their respective Certificate of Land Ownership Award (CLOA) from Department of Agrarian Reform during the mass distribution on July 7, 2023 in the town of Cabagan, Isabela.

The DAR-Region 2's Director, Primo C. Lara, said that the agency will continue to give the land titles and assistances to ARBs in the region to boost agricultural production and help the government in achieving food security. 

According to him, a total of 3,693,3812 hectares were distributed to 2,500 ARBs during the mass distribution at Cabagan, Isabela. (MGE / PIA Isabela)
