Pag-IBIG Fund offers calamity assistance to members affected by ST Egay

DAGUPAN CITY (PIA) – Pag-IBIG Fund is offering its calamity loan program to members in the Ilocos Region who are affected by Super Typhoon Egay.


Mervin Pereda, Ilocos Region area head of Pag-IBIG Fund, said members from Dagupan City, Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur where state of calamity was declared due to the effects of Super Typhoon Egay may avail the agency’s short term loan program to have an immediate financial aid.


Pereda said a total of P1.7 billion budget is available for the short-term loan program for 220,000 members in Ilocos Region.


Of the total budget, P400 million funds are available for members from Dagupan City, P150 million for members of the Ilocos Norte Branch, and P220 million for the Vigan Branch.


“Every qualified member is entitled to borrow up to 80% of their total Pag-IBIG Regular Savings, which consist of their monthly contributions, their employer’s contributions, and accumulated dividends earned,” Pereda said.


Jonah Grace Oxiles, information officer of Pag-IBIG Fund Dagupan Branch, said that members with at least 24 months of savings under the Pag-IBIG Regular Savings may avail of the calamity program.


She said the Pag-IBIG Calamity Loan carries the lowest interest rate in the market of 0.495% percent per month.


Oxiles said members may avail of the Pag-IBIG Calamity Loan within a period of 90 days from the declaration of a state of calamity by the Sangguniang Bayan of their respective area.


“Members may opt to pay their loans in two years or 24 months or within three years or 36 months,” she said.


Oxiles said members' initial payment for the approved loan will be due in the 4th month after the loan was released.


She added that if the member has an outstanding Multi-Purpose and/or Calamity Loan, the amount of loan he or she will receive shall be the difference between the 80% of his or her total Pag-IBIG Regular Savings and the outstanding balance of his/her loan.


Oxiles said members may file their loan application through the following methods:

  1. Over-the-counter transactions – Visit the Pag-IBIG branch near you. For members in Dagupan City, Pag-IBIG offices are located at the 2/F BHF Family Plaza, Mayombo District in Dagupan City while the  Alaminos Member Services Office is at 2/F Old Legislative Bldg. in front of Alaminos City Hall in Alaminos City.
  2. Online filing via Virtual Pag-IBIG for members – Prepare the following requirements

a.      Filled out Calamity Application Form

b.      Signed certificate of net pay (at the back portion of the application form)

c.      One valid identification (ID)

d.      Loyalty Card Plus; and

e.      Selfie holding the valid ID and Loyalty Card Plus

      3. Through pick up of Lingkod Pag-IBIG – Call the Pag-IBIG office for the schedule when the application is ready for pick-up.
