Sen. Marcos provides educational assistance to 1,000 Baguio students

BAGUIO CITY (PIA) - - Senator Imee Marcos, in coordination with the City Government of Baguio through the City Social Welfare and Development Office, distributed  educational assistance to  1,000   college students   at the Baguio Convention and Cultural Center on Sunday (August 20).


The pre-identified student beneficiaries  from low  income families   each received P10,000 educational assistance.

Senator Imee Marcos assures their commitment to help the students get by this semester amid the effects of the recent typhoons ad monsoons through the educational assistance they are giving. (CCD/PIA CAR)

Marcos, in her message, outlined that the assistance aims to help the families in areas affected by typhoon Egay and the enhanced Habagat (Southwest monsoon) in terms of tuition fees and educational expenses of their children for this semester.


“Investing in students is the best business that we can do. Let us help one another and you can count on us. Study well and make sure that we have invested on the right people”, Marcos stressed.


Mayor Benjamin Magalong, in behalf of the city government, expressed gratitude to  the Senator for always ready to provide assistance to the city of Baguio and its citizens.


Marcos also provided financial assistance to 600 barangay tanods in Baguio City last August 13, through the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis (AICS) program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.


 Prior to her  Baguio event, Sen.Marcos   distributed educational assistance to the students from typhoon - affected families in the provinces of Benguet and Mountain Province. (JDP/CCD-PIA CAR)
