MANILA, (PIA) -- The local government of Valenzuela is set to impose truck ban in some of city roads on Friday in preparation for the opening of 2023 FIBA World Cup.
In an advisory, the City Government said trucks with a gross weight of 4,500 kg or more will not be allowed to on some roads in the city from 10:00 am to 11:59 pm on Friday.
The truck ban will be imposed on the following roads: McArthur Highway from Tullahan bridge to the boundary of Valenzuela and Meycauayan.
MH del Pilar starting from the boundary of Santolan, Malabon and Arkong Bato to Malanday corner McArthur highway; along Gov. Santiago from Tatawid bridge to McArthur Highway.
Tucks will also not be allowed to traverse T. Santiago corner McArthur Highway, Maysan Road, Paso de Blas. From Paso de Blas to T. Santiago Canumay as well as Gen. Luis boundary of Caloocan City and Valenzuela City to NLEX will also affected.
Meanwhile, the NLEX Corporation announced the closure to the public of all access points to the Philippine Arena in Ciudad de Victoria, Bulacan.
In an advisory on Facebook Thursday, the access will be closed starting at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 25, 2023.
Accordingto NLEX Corp., the areas concerned are the Ciudad de Vicotria toll plaza nothbound exit, southbound ramp exit, Igulot intersection access via MacArthur Highway and Gate 3 at Barangay Bolakan (backdoor).
"Only P2P buses and vehicles authorized by FIBA with valid Vehicle Access and Parking Permits will be allowed to enter Ciudad de Vicotria," the NLEX Corporation said.
Motorists are advised to take alternate routes, passing through Marialo, Bocae, or Tambobong.(PIA-NCR)
