SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union (PIA) – The Philippine Statistics Authority-Regional Statistical Services Office 1 (PSA-RSSO 1) is urging the public to schedule an appointment first before visiting the Civil Registration Services (CRS) outlets across the region to request documents.
Camille Carla Beltran, chief administrative officer of PSA-RSSO 1, said in an interview that people securing a copy of civil registry documents are required to secure appointments online via appointment.psa.gov.ph.
Beltran said this is to ensure that clients will be promptly accommodated by PSA during their visit.
“Sa mga kababayan po natin na kukuha ng civil registry documents gaya ng birth, death o marriage certificates, certificate of no marriage at iba pang certification ay kailangan na po talaga ng appointment bago pumunta sa aming opisina,” Beltran said.
She added, “Ayaw naman natin na galing pa sila sa malayong lugar tapos ay napakahabang pila pa ang kanilang dadatnan at aantayin.”
When booking a schedule but intend to send a representative to get the documents, Beltran noted that the appointment must be under the name of the authorized representative instead.
“Siguraduhing pangalan ng pupunta at kukuha ng dokumento sa tanggapan ng PSA ang nakarehistro sa appointment system,” Beltran stated.
Clients must bring their valid identification which includes any of the following: company/office/school ID; ID for senior citizens, voters, and persons with disability (PWDs); government IDs like PhilHealth and Unified Multi-Purpose Identification (UMID) card; driver’s ID; or a professional license.
“Kapag sinabi natin valid, ‘yong hindi pa po expired na ID gaya ng school ID na nasa current school year dapat ang taon na nakalagay,” she noted.
Priority lanes are provided for senior citizens, pregnant women, and PWDs.
On the other hand, Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) ID holders are not required to present an appointment when visiting PSA offices to secure civil registry documents. (JCR/AMB/CGRC, PIA Region 1)
