CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga (PIA) –- Twenty two barangays in the city are set to receive assistance for infrastructure projects under the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan - Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services- Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (KALAHI-CIDSS-PAMANA) program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Florence Baniaga of DSWD-CAR during the project orientation identified the beneficiary areas as Agbannawag, Amlao, Bagumbayan, Bulanao Centro, Bulo, Calaccad, Cudal, Dupag, Gobgob, Guilayon, Nambaran, New Tanglag, Calanan, Dilag, Ipil, Lucog, Magnao, Nambucayan, Naneng, Lacnog West, Lacnog East and San Juan.
Each recipient barangay will receive P1.2million to be downloaded to their account. This shall be used for concreting of farm-to-market roads, construction of day care centers, drainage canals, perimeter fence, barangay health centers, water works and spring development projects.
Barangays covered under the funding assistance were identified by the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples and the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace Process, Reconciliation and Unity .
Baniaga also explained the procurement process for the program.
As requirement, technical working groups from the Barangay Development Councils of the 22 barangaysare formed and tasked for the project preparation, procurement, implementation, monitoring and inspection, operations and maintenance and grievances.
Project bookkeeper, assistant bookkeeper, secretary and treasurer were also assigned. (JDP/LL-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
