DILG, LGU break ground for 6 SBDP health stations in Abra

PILAR, Abra(PIA) -- The Department of  the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Abra and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Pilar held   on Wednesday, October 11, 2023,  the groundbreaking ceremony of six barangay health stations to  be constructed in the municipality.

DILG-Abra Provincial Director Daisy Payang and Pilar Mayor Tyrone Beroña, along with the member-agencies of the provincial Task Force to End Local Communist Armed-Conflict (PTF-ELCAC) and the local officials of the different barangay-beneficiaries led the  groundbreaking ceremony  at Barangay  Bolbolo.

The project sites are  barangays  Dintan, Nanangduan, Pang-ot, Tikitik, and Villavieja.

These projects  are  funded under the Support to Barangay Development Program (SBDP) of  Executive Order No. 70 or  Institutionalizing the Whole-of-Nation Approach  in  Attaining Inclusive and Sustainable Peace.

Each health station costs from P4 to 6 Million  depending  on the Detailed Engineering Design.

Mayor  Beroña said that barangays in the municipality have long  been wishing for their own health station.

“Pangarap ng mga barangay dito ang magkaroon ng sarili nilang health station kaya nagpapasalamat ang bayan ng Pilar sa mga na-award ng health centers. Malaki ang maitutulong nito sa serbisyo para sa kalusugan,”  he said  as he  committed the proper implementation of the projects.

Bolbolo Punong Barangay Lorenzo Dufale Sr. also expressed his gratitude for being one of the beneficiaries of SBDP projects.

“After ng completion ng health center na ito, magkakaroon na tayo ng murang gamot, magkakaroon ng doctor, ambulansya at dito na mag-oopisina ang mga Barangay Health Workers,  kaya malaki ang tulong ng project na ito sa barangay,” he said.

Payang explained to the beneficiaries  that among the  salient features of EO 70 is harmonized delivery of basic services and social development packages in conflict-affected and vulnerable communities in pursuit of  the  peace and development agenda of the government. (JDP/CAGT – PIA CAR, Abra)
