DAR launches construction of a bridge for Zambo del Norte farmers

QUEZON CITY -- More than 50 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) and residents from the adjacent barangays in Head-tipan, Mutia, Zamboanga del Norte will stand to benefit from the groundbreaking ceremony conducted by the Department of Agrarian Reform’s (DAR)  in partnership with the local government of Mutia, for the construction of the ‘Tulay ng Pangulo para sa Kaunlarang Pang-agraryo’ (TPKP) bridge project.

Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II Rizzel B. Villanueva  said the bridge would connect the villages of barangay Diland and Head-tipan to the market centers and would benefit other neighboring towns and barangays in the area.

He said the project, which involves a nationwide construction of 418 builder unibridge from France, is a double lane modular steel unibridge with a total length of 28.8 linear meters and a width of 7 meters.

"I am anticipating that through this project, our ARBs will have better access to market their products and eventually increase their income and improve their lives,"  Villanueva said.

Villanueva led the laying of the capsule for the groundbreaking construction of the bridge that will link the town’s agrarian reform communities to the economic mainstream and open up development potentials in line with President Rodrigo Duterte’s ten (10) Point Agenda of job creation and decentralization of progress.

Mutia Municipal Mayor Lorrymir S. Adasa thanked the national government for the bridge despite the many challenges the country is facing. (DAR)
