MIMAROPA police intensify security measures as schools open in November

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PRO Mimaropa) -- Police Regional Office MIMAROPA Director Police Brigadier General Sidney Hernia has directed all police units in the region to intensify the preventive security measures against violent acts in schools ahead of the start of the face-to-face classes in November this year.

It was in accordance with Chief PNP Vicente Danao’s order to conduct collaborative dialogues with stakeholders to enhance security measures for the opening of the face-to-face classes.

PBGen Hernia said that the intensified security measures are aimed at preventing crimes and ensuring that police intervention is in place to diffuse other lawless incidents on school premises.

“We are also expecting that more people will be going out not only in schools but also in other public places when physical classes are fully implemented,” Hernia said.

“That is why I have also directed all field commanders to strictly implement the Minimum Public Health Protocols to deter the possible resurgence of COVID-19 infection along with their anti-criminality measures”, he added. (PR)
