CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro (PIA) – The construction of Oriental Mindoro Sports Complex in Brgy. Santiago, Naujan is one of the biggest projects that the provincial government endorsed this year as it offers the ideal venue for engaging people in multiple ways to stay active and healthy.

The project is the realization of Gov. Humerlito A. Dolor’s promise to Mindoreños and commitment to public to build a sports complex that would benefit communities socially and through the improved physical health of the citizens.  It could also handle countless guests and sports enthusiasts once the complex became operational.

According to the local chief executive, trainings on different field of sports for the youths can be done in the complex in preparation for various sports events like Mimaropa Regional Athletic Meet, Palarong Pambansa and even other sports related events within the province of Oriental Mindoro.

Based on the assessment of the local government, the Oriental Mindoro Sports Complex is expected to finish by March 2022.

The following contributed funds for the sports complex initial construction: Former House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano, P50M for the construction of track oval; Office of Senator Sonny Angara, P30M for the construction of grandstand; and Senator Migz Zubiri, P10M for the construction of bleachers.  (LTC/PIA-OrMin)
