Education is a powerful tool in empowering and developing learners to become productive citizens of the country who are responsive to the needs of the times. To achieve this, the Department of Education (DepEd) bared its first medium-term plan for education called the Basic Education Development Plan (BEDP) 2030.

The said plan aims to address the current challenges the education sector faces through its four pillars, namely access, equity, quality, and resiliency and wellbeing. BEDP covers all formal education from 5 to 18 years old and nonformal education for youth and adults. It is a part of the administration’s efforts to ensure that the call for improving the access and quality of basic education will continue.

This Education Week, let’s strengthen cooperation among stakeholders to achieve quality and relevant education and proactively address the challenges in basic education.
