Albeit a fourth-class municipality, the town of Placer in the province of Surigao del Norte is still far behind compared to its neighbouring towns in terms of tourism development. But that narrative is about to change now as the Municipal Tourism Office strives to showcase its diverse and rich ecotourism and history through the "Run through Tourism" initiative and entice the public to find pleasure in Placer.
