Indigenous communities play a crucial role in safeguarding our land and biodiversity. They establish a vital link between us and the natural world, serving as the foundations of our identity. Unfortunately, these invaluable contributions go unrecognized as indigenous peoples (IPs) continue to struggle with the lack of official acknowledgment regarding their lands and natural resources.

As we celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day, let’s fully recognize our IPs and earnestly uphold their rights. Through “Project Epanaw,” let’s get to know more about their story. Together, let’s continue advocating, promoting, and protecting their rich heritage, culture and history. Mabuhay, Katutubong Filipino!
