DPWH completes 2 new school buildings in Tarlac

TARLAC CITY (PIA) -- Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed two new school buildings in the province of Tarlac.

These include the 4-storey, 8-classroom building at Baras-Baras High School in Tarlac City and 2 storey, 8-classroom building at Marawi Elementary School in Camiling.

DPWH Tarlac 1st District Engineer Erelina Santos said the school building construction activities continued amid the pandemic to ensure its immediate completion, and that the facilities will be available to students once the face-to-face classes resume.

“This will be of great help for the students who used to cramp in dilapidated buildings. The construction of new school buildings is the DPWH’s contribution in the educational sector in making public school facilities conducive to learning,” the official furthered.

P24 million was allotted for the construction of the building at Baras-Baras High School and P25 million for the building at Marawi Elementary School.

The school building projects were implemented through the Basic Education Facilities Fund, a convergence program between DPWH and Department of Education. (CLJD-PIA 3)
