CPPO chief underscores 'good governance' in police service

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan (PIA) - - The newly-installed provincial director of the Cagayan Police Provincial Office (CPPO) has urged the local police force to serve with utmost sincerity and uphold the troop's dignity in the performance of duty.

Police Colonel Renell Sabaldica said that his top priority is to execute good governance and internal cleansing among the Cagayan police, which he believes to be the key strategy towards genuine service to the nation.

"We also need to transform our offices physically because it is the window of our service to the people. We also need to transform our workforce to bring back the morale of the bureaucracy," Sabaldica said.

He also stressed that police officials should always be reminded of the PNP's vision to be capable, effective, and credible government servants.

"If we have already internalized and performed these, the mandate of the police of enforcing the law will follow and will surely be implemented well, especially against criminality, drugs, and insurgency," he said.

He also urged  police officials to engage in community activities and encourage partnerships towards development, nation building, and the maintenance of peace and security.

Sabaldica also emphasized police visibility in the barangays, especially in the remote areas to bring  government services nearer to the countryside. (JKC/OTB/PIA Cagayan)
