DICT holds basic digital literacy training in Biliran

NAVAL, Biliran (PIA) -- The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) - Visayas Cluster 2, through its Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Literacy and Competency Development Bureau (ILCDB), has conducted a basic digital literacy training to Indigenous Peoples (IPs) and Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) in the province of Biliran.

Some 18 IPs in Sitio Palayan, Barangay Caucab, Almeria, Biliran were trained on basic computer system, word processing, spreadsheets, and creating digital presentations.

Said training, in cooperation with LGU-Almeria, was held in Palayan Elementary School  on June 28 to July 2.

Some 11 PDLs from the Biliran Provincial Jail (BPJ) also underwent a four-day digital literacy training particularly on basic computer operations and word processing.

Gideon B. Batiquin, BPJ provincial warden, said the training will digitally empower the said PDLs even when they are inside the facility.
