Navotas economic frontliners receive full vaccination

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- Approximately 400 essential frontline workers in Navotas City recently received their full vaccination at the Navotas Fish Port Complex. 

The population belongs to A4 category which includes economic frontliners from among the fisherfolk sector, fish traders, fish port workers, and inclined workforce under the Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA) and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR). 

The immunization of the considered ‘food security’ frontliners is viewed prospective owing to their pivotal role in ensuring that there is sufficient fish supply within Metro Manila. 

Accordingly, more than 300 Navoteños from A1 to A3 priority groups also received their first immunization dose at Kaunlaran High School in Navotas last Monday, July 5. The A2 priority list however are mostly encouraged to receive immunization after the local chief executive of Navotas, Mayor Toby Tiangco, announced the below target vaccination rate among senior citizens at 13,808 out of the 31,000 population prospect.

As of July 3, the local city government of Navotas ranks second in terms of LGU utilization rate with 88.22% total percentage of administered vaccines against COVID-19 among the A1 to A5 priority list of the city following the daily vaccination report of the Regional Vaccination Operations Center in the National Capital Region (NCR). Valenzuela City LGU on the other hand places the highest with 92.42% utilization rate. 

Meanwhile, based on the Philippine COVID-19 Update of OCTA Research on July 2, Navotas City has recorded the ‘fewest newest cases per day’ from June 25 – July 1 along with other NCR circumferential districts Pateros and Malabon. Of which, Navotas had the lowest reported incidence rate at 2.25% per 100,000 population.
