CEBU CITY, Cebu, July 8 (PIA) -- The Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) in the municipality of San Remigio launched a “Tiktok Challenge” at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in a bid to engage with residents and the youth in their town.
In an interview with Presidential Communications Operations Office Sec. Martin Andanar during the Network Briefing News, SK Federation President Cydric Frasco said the challenge was a big help to providing the essential needs of local residents.
“The winners of the 'Tiktok Challenge' received one sack of rice each and directly delivered to their respective homes,” he added.
Frasco also mentioned that aside from the online challenge, they also encouraged the youth to submit “Best Family Quarantine” pictures for them to develop their skills in creating fun videos and photos.
It was also a way for families and friends to spend quality time together during the quarantine period, he said.
On the other hand, Frasco shared their activities for the upcoming “Linggo ng Kabataan” in August, namely:
- Social Media Literacy for the youth to know the advantages and disadvantages in using social media.
- Painting contest where they can paint their positive feelings amid the ongoing crisis.
- Spoken Poetry where they can express their feelings amid the pandemic.
Frasco encouraged the youth to continue what they are doing to achieve their dreams and to support the government's efforts to overcome the crisis. (HFG/PIA7)
