PASIG CITY, (PIA) -- The Department of Tourism (DOT) welcomes the decision of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases for allowing children five (5) years old and above and fully vaccinated seniors to visit the outdoors in areas under general community quarantine (GCQ) and modified general community quarantine (MGCQ).
Subject to existing health and safety protocols and restrictions set by the local government unit, outdoor areas include parks, al fresco dining, beaches among others.
In an advisory, DOT said that children should be supervised by adults and that everyone adheres to minimum public health standards, like wearing of face masks and practicing social distancing and the quarantine restrictions of the local government unit (LGU).
The advisory further states that concerned LGU may increase the age restriction of children depending on the COVID-19 situation in their respective jurisdiction.
The famous landmark Rizal Park or Luneta is open daily, from 5 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
