Minors still not allowed to ride in MRT trains

QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- The Metro Rail Transit Line 3 or MRT-3 is reminding train commuters that young passengers aged 17 and below are still not allowed to ride their trains.

In an advisory, the MRT-3 said only passengers aged 18 to 65 are allowed to travel on the rail line following the recent approval of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases to allow children five (5) years old and above access to open spaces in areas under general community quarantine or GCQ and modified general community quarantine or MGCQ such as parks, playgrounds, beaches, and biking and hiking trails.

Meanwhile, train riders are reminded of the strict implementation of the “7 Commandments” against COVID-19:

  1. Always wear face mask and face shield
  2. No talking and talking on the phone
  3. No eating
  4. Always maintain good and adequate ventilation in public transport
  5. Conduct regular disinfection
  6. Passengers with symptoms of COVID-19 will not be allowed
  7. Always maintain physical distancing

The MRT-3 line, that has 13 stations on 16.9 kilometers of double track, continues to provide commuters safe, fast and smoother rides. (DOTr-MRT3/PIA-NCR)
