QUEZON CITY, (PIA) -- The Pasig City Government has allowed children five (5) years old and above to visit some outdoor public areas in the city but not inside malls.

Mayor Vico Sotto issued the guidelines that shall apply to all parks, playgrounds, outdoor tourist sites and attractions (as may be defined by the Department of Tourism), outdoor non-contact sports courts and venues, and al fresco dining establishments in the city in the implementation of general community quarantine (GCQ) with restrictions in Pasig City.

The continued implementation of proactive measures and restrictions must be put in place to slow down the surge in COVID-19 cases, stop further spread of variants, buy time for the health system to cope, and to protect more lives,” his Executive Order reads.

The same measure, however, said children are still not allowed in malls and other mixed use indoor/outdoor buildings or facilities.

Under the city’s executive order, children five (5) years old and above may be able to visit said areas provided that they must be supervised by an adult and in observance of minimum public health standards such as wearing of face mask/face shield, and social distancing.

This, following the recent approval of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases to allow children five (5) years old and above and fully vaccinated seniors to visit the outdoors in areas under general community quarantine (GCQ) and modified general community quarantine (MGCQ), (Pasig PIO/PIA-NCR)
