BUTUAN CITY -- Bikers from Bayugan City and various municipalities in the province of Agusan del Sur had actively participated in “Bike for Peace and Justice,” a nationwide event on July 17, 2021, which calls for justice for the death of cousins Kieth and Novelene Absalon in June 2021 by the Communist Party of the Philippines – New People’s Army – National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF).
Some 65 biking enthusiasts composed of San Francisco Bikers Club, Agusan del Sur Bikers Club, and 1301st Regional Mobile Force Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 13, Cutlog Base, Barobo, Surigao del Sur joined early morning in the event held in San Francisco, Agusan del Sur.
With common cause, 80 bikers from the municipality of Veruela, Agusan del Sur also joined the personnel of Veruela Municipal Police Station for the event that started at 5:30 a.m. from Poblacion to Sampaguita. The local government unit of Veruela also expressed support and thanks to those who stand for peace and justice for the Absalon cousins and in the fight against terrorism.
Same with the municipality of Bunawan, Agusan del Sur, where the Philippine National Police (PNP) secured the route of the bikers as support to them as they call for justice for the brutal killing of the Absalon cousins, as well as for all the victims of the abuses and exploitation of the communist terrorist groups.
The “Bike for Peace and Justice” is a civil-inspired event, largely participated by private stakeholders, especially by families and communities affected by the crimes and atrocities of the CTG-CPP-NPA-NDF, to call on for true and lasting peace in their local communities.
This one-day, nationwide event is the 40th day after the death of Keith and Novelen Absalon (July 16 is 40th day but on a Friday).
Participants from the cycling groups in the city/provinces, families from their homes, third-party organizations and other stakeholders took videos and photos of themselves, and tagged the event’s campaign and messaging as content while uploading the materials to their respective social media accounts using the hashtags: #BikeForKiethPH #NagBikeAkoForKieth #NagBikeAkoForPeaceAndJustice #BiieForPeaceAndJustice #JusticeForKieth #JusticeForAbsalons #StopTheCommunistTerroristKillings #NoMoreCommunistTerroristViolence #PeaceWithoutCPPNPANDF #NoMoreCPPNPANDF.
