PARANAQUE CITY, (PIA) -- The Parañaque City Government has imposed a city-wide ban of selling and serving alcoholic drink from August 2 to 20, 2021.
The ban on alcoholic beverage was ordered after Malacañang announced on Friday, July 30 that Metro Manila will be placed under an Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) to prevent the spread of the Delta coronavirus (COVID-19) variant.
The local government, as well as the city’s Business Permits and Licensing Office’s recommended the suspension of liquor license to limit social gatherings that may cause the further transmission of the virus.
Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez signed the Executive Order No. 2021-047 Series of 2021 on August 1, 2021. Under the executive order, all business establishments with permit to sell, and serve alcoholic drinks are not allowed to do so.
Establishments, including restaurants, bars, ktvs, convenience stores, sari-sari stores, food establishments, and groceries that are found in violation of the EO will face appropriate penalties and sanctions. (PIA-NCR)
