UN enjoins youth to transform food systems

QUEZON CITY--The United Nations Youth Advisory Board Philippines (UNYAB-Philippines) joins the Philippine UN Country Office in celebrating the 2021 International Youth Day (IYD) on August 12, 2021.

For this year’s IYD celebration, UNYAB-Philippines invites youth ages 15 years old and above and youth organizations to participate in online discussions and set inspiring actions to address the country’s challenges on the food systems.

With the theme “Transforming Food Systems: Youth Innovation for Human and Planetary Health,” UN-UNYAB will showcase youth grassroots initiatives and highlight concerns and issues of youth regarding food, nutrition, and environment for the next set of leaders to address.

The celebration will also serve as a venue to call for action to address the negative impacts of food insecurity and inadequate interventions.

It will also aim to preserve planetary health that adversely affects the disadvantaged sectors of society, especially women and girls/refugees and asylum seekers in the country.
