TBOLI, South Cotabato (PIA) -- Residents of an indigenous community in Tboli town now have easier access to potable water as they receive a newly built water system from the government.
Sitio dwellers of Masaya in Brgy. Maan are now happy as they no longer need to walk down rivers to get water for daily use with the recent turnover of the water system project for them.
The Office of South Cotabato 2nd District Representative Ferdinand Hernandez allocated P2.5 Million for the project in coordination with the municipal government of Tboli through the Sitio Empowerment Program.
Sitio Masaya is one of the farthest sitios in South Cotabato situated along the boundaries of Tboli and Maasim, Sarangani Province which can be accessed only by motorcycles.
The water system project is expected to give comfort not only to residents of the said sitio, but also for neighboring Sitio Lemdamay, Sitio Datal Lanao, Sitio Hambayan, Sitio Bengu/Bogbog, and other areas in the community.
Joining Cong. Hernandez during the turnover on August 4 were Tboli Mayor Dibu Tuan, Vice Mayor Ronnie Dela Peña, Councilor Keo Tuan, Barangay Chairman Danny Belgica and barangay and sitio officials. (PIA)
