Koronadal City to provide free tablets for SHS students

KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato (PIA) -- The City Government of Koronadal is set to distribute gadgets for the distance learning of students ahead of the opening of classes in September.

The local government will provide 4,794 units of tablets for senior high school students in different public schools in the city.

Mayor Eliordo Ogena said the gadgets are for underprivileged public school students to ensure that no one would be left behind when it comes to education amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ogena also advised recipients to use the gadget exclusively for educational purposes.

Also, 1,600 tablets will be allotted for public school teachers.

Aside from the gadgets, learners from Grade 1 to Grade 12 are set to receive free school supplies from the city government.

There are 9 public high schools and 45 elementary public schools under the Department of Education–Schools Division of Koronadal City. (ORVR/PIA-12)
